Black Women Photographers:
Global community and digital database, Black Women Photographers (BWP), launched on July 7, 2020 by Polly Irungu, with a COVID-19 relief fund (#BWPReliefFund) to provide support to Black women and non-binary photographers during the pandemic. In an effort to promote and encourage inclusive hiring practices, the database highlights any and all Black women who elect to be submitted.
By providing a resource for the industry’s gatekeepers, Black Women Photographers aims to disrupt the notion that it is difficult to discover and commission Black creatives.
Through honest dialogue via social conversations, the platform seeks to ensure that more Black women are empowered to make the industry as colorful as it ought to be.
Black Women Photographers is a home for Black women to receive proper recognition, and most importantly, get hired.

Tae Hamm is an artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. He obtained a Bachelors of Art’s degree in Business Marketing from Clark Atlanta University in 2016. Hamm's preferred medium is oil paint with minor use of acrylic.
Tae Hamm is only beginning to participate in art shows, despite being enrolled in Progress Village Middle Magnet School of the Arts at the age of 12, but so far he has had great success. In 2016, the artist debuted his work for the first time in Washington, D.C. during the Operation Consent Exhibition, a project within a community based art collective, I Cannot Complain. Since then, Hamm has been actively pursuing more art exposure while growing and strengthening his style and technique.
Hamm uses imagery in his art that typically challenges hyper-masculinity and highlights strong feminine figures. His style typically partitions sections of the human anatomy to reveal secrets within and of his muses. Hamm balances cool and warm colors with elegance and ease in an effort to give the viewer a controlled sense of excitement.
The Art Vacancy is a women-founded art organization, based in New York, that supports artists across all disciplines. Founded in March 2017 by Sáng Huynh and Lindsey Puccio, TAV aims to encourage creatives by shaping unique opportunities for them to expand their craft and network of resources. As a group of artists ourselves, we felt disheartened by a reoccurring disconnect we’d see between curators and artists. We saw that for our artist peers, opportunities to showcase their work were either very exclusive, and guarded by an elite niche, or inconsiderate pop-up shows where the art simply serves as a backdrop to a party, yielding them little recognition or potential to sell. We felt a balance of access and excellence could be struck; where artists would not be vetted based on institutionalized limitations shaped by a dominate culture, but rather their dedication to the craft, and their ambition to be impactful. We chose to start an organization that was for artists, by artists because we believe the strongest advocates for a culture are its own.
Zoe Anastasia is an artist from Texas. Her primary medium is oil paint, but her love for art began with graphite and ink, which she still enjoys. While she has been sketching for about seven years, it wasn't until she received oil paints for Christmas in 2018 that she started painting. She started selling prints and custom paintings a few months later.
Her favorite subjects are anything she finds beautiful! Cloud scenes, nude women, flowers and plants, butterflies and bugs, shapes, colors, experiences, emotions and patterns are some of Zoe's favorite things to paint. Her style varies but she is most well known for surreal scenes, rich and vibrant colors, and very realistic nudes.
Zoe is always working on at least ten to twenty paintings and has at least a hundred ideas waiting for their turn to be born. Despite this fact, her customs are always open and her shop is full of paintings, prints, stickers, and more.
